Final Movie Sequence

10 comments:

  1. The clock shown straight at the beguinning is a good effect because you know its a symbol of time
I also like the sound effect of the heartbeat as it creates / builds up tension, as well as the music and the sharp ringing sound of thephone.
I like the short clips of her jumping and then the titles are shown, which makes it raise even more suspence for myself (the viewer)
The stranger at the end who has appeared in the house makes me want to continue to watch the film sequence!
The only critism i can make is that a couple of the titles/names at the beguinning are shown a little too quickly

  2. Good points:
The idea of intervals for titles for each begging of a new scene was a good idea as it broke the opening sequence up.
The actual sounds of the telephone and the knocking sounding really good in fact it made me jump on the loud knocks.
You have used good use of titles, however you only put mostly names, you could have written as well as 'Produced by' but added titles like 'Directed by', 'Sound' or 'hair and makeup' to the names you had already got.

    Critisms:
During one point of the sequence before the sound of the heartbeat starts for the second time I noticed that the sound was cut off quick and there was no sound for a very short moment (wasnt clear whether it was meant to be that way or not).
The ending was good however I do think the noise of the scream was a little different to the female actors voice.

Overall you have made a good final sequence it has worked really and was interesting however I hope the constructive critisms will help you.

  3. Instantly i (the viewer) am drawn in by the sounds of the heartbeats used, this gives a very dramatic effect and straight away gives you an impression that something scary is about to happen. I also like the fact that each scene is cut, revealing a black screen and a title, this helps to build tension. I feel that the acting works well as it is dramatic and also the use of close up shots work well, as you are then able to see the persons facial expressions clearly.
The only criticism i can give is that i feel the sound of the first knock was a bit to loud for the person not to notice so therefore this could have been made quieter or acted on a little more.

However all in all i think that this opening scene worked well to create tension and has been left with a good cliffhanger as i (the viewer) now wants to know what will happen next.

  4. Your actress played her part very well and i think this made your opening more successful. The titles on a black background and the red indicate your horror theme. i like the way it switches from titles to the clips because it makes the viewer want to carry on watching it to find out what happens after each title. The way you have used sound is very clever because it matches what was going on.
My only criticism is when she is sitting down she doesn't react to the first set of knocking and maybe if you were in that situation you would.

    Well done :)

  5. I really like that the screen goes off when the titles come onit adds to th tention building in the scene.
your sister played the part really well and didn't get distracted from her task which really made the opening better
i think that it took her a while to get to the door which may lose you viewers.
You used some really thought out shots which added to the tention.

  6. Hello Debbie

I like your piece and I like the fact that tension run throughout the it. I like the fact that the titles are in red which signifies blood and this lets the viewer know what sort of film they have come to see. A couple of points you could improve on are:
she doesn't react to the knock on the door the first time through and if I was in that position I would answer the door
    well done!!!

  7. I really like the sound effects of the heartbeat and the how the music comes in as soon as she realizes something is not right it makes a lot of tension.
I also think you held the camera very steady throughout the whole opening which is quite difficult to do but you pulled it off very well.
The actress who played the girl played the part very well and made it realistic by not coming out of character.
I also think by bringing in the heartbeat again later on during the film keeps the tension flowing.
The only criticism i have is i think you needed to change the pitch of the scream as it didn't sound like the actresses voice.
overall it was a really good opening sequence.

  8. The effect of the heartbeat during the titles and when the music starts it really gives good tension.
The actress did very well in each scene and this made the opening feel like a thriller and makes your heart race with each time there is a bang at the window/door.
There were some good camera angles, close-ups etc which had a really good impact of the effect it gave as we saw the expression on the girl's face. Also the part at the end made me jump as i was not expecting that!!
The only things i would say to improve would be the part at the end where she screams to maybe show her reaction as she saw the person and not to go straight into seeing him, other than that i would watch this film to find out who he is :)

  9. Straight away i like the sound effect. I think its really clever. I also like the music you've put with it i think it suits the footage. I think the actor in the opening really plays her role well. The only thing id critisize is that it took a while for the event to happen, but i thought it was a really good piece.

  10. I liked the way you put the font on with the heartbeat then suddenly switched it off. It kept the audience alert. You kept the camera still which was good and you got a variety of different shot, overall it was good :-)!
